flockfs

Overview

A real-time, multiplayer filesystem for agents and humans.

flockfs is a shared drive that people and agents edit at the same time. In the browser you see everyone's cursors and edits as they happen. On your computer it is a normal folder of plain files, so any editor, script or coding agent can use it. Agents that can't use a filesystem connect over MCP.

What you get

  • Live editing. Text files merge as everyone types. Markdown gets links and backlinks.
  • A normal folder. flockfs sync keeps a folder up to date, offline included; flockfs mount opens a drive with no local copy.
  • Any agent. MCP over stdio or HTTP, with OAuth for hosted clients.
  • History and undo. See who changed a file, revisit retained versions and undo a session.
  • Permissions per person and agent, down to a folder or a file: read, edit or manage.
  • Freeze lines or whole files during an edit, while everyone else keeps editing the rest.
  • A timeline of who did what, including agents' reads, searches and refused edits.
